And the 2021 Smart Building Award goes to… One Vanderbilt!
In quick succession, the One Vanderbilt office tower has won three prestigious awards that recognize its smart technology solutions, development of the whole project, and interior design. Last week, during the Innovators Forums 2021 held by the Commercial Observer, it received the Smart Building of the Year award.
"This is another great award for One Vanderbilt! But of course, this is my favorite one. On behalf of the whole Sharry team, we are very proud to be one of the leading technology partners at this amazing high-rise. Congratulations to Hines and SL Green Realty Corp," commented Josef Šachta, the CEO and co-founder of Sharry.
Sharry delivered the market-leading integrated mobile access solution to One Vanderbilt together with an advanced visitor management system based on guest passes with QR codes, and also a first-class tenant engagement mobile application enabling all users for example to reserve amenities in the building or request maintenance just with a tap on their smartphone.
2021 ULI New York Award
Just a few days before the Innovators Forum, SL Green Realty Corp. – Manhattan’s largest office landlord and the developer of One Vanderbilt – announced that One Vanderbilt won the 2021 ULI New York Award for Excellence in Development. The prestigious annual award recognizes the best in real estate development projects across New York City.
One Vanderbilt, the skyline-defining tower designed by world-renowned architecture firm Kohn Pederson Fox, was recognized for its vital role in the revitalization of East Midtown, providing a new model for delivering transportation and public realm improvements through public-private partnerships, and the prioritization of $17 million in sustainability features above and beyond those required under New York City’s construction codes.
2021 NYCxDESIGN Award
And last but certainly not the least prestigious award goes primarily to world-renowned architecture firm Kohn Pederson Fox. At the Interior Design's sixth annual NYCxDESIGN awards ceremony in May, One Vanderbilt won the Commercial Lobby/Amenity Space category, honored for the lobby's bronze “art wall” installation and the building’s direct connection to the Terminal.
One Vanderbilt officially opened on 14th September 2020 and is currently over 91% leased, according to the SL Green announcement. Major recent milestones include the opening of its observation experience, SUMMIT One Vanderbilt, on 21st October 2021, which offers visitors a truly unmatched immersive experience at the highest vantage point in Midtown Manhattan.
