Q22 to Launch Employee Badge in Apple Wallet As One Of The First Office Buildings In Europe
Sharry, a workplace experience platform around digital employee badges, launches employee badge in Apple Wallet at Q22 in Warsaw. Q22 becomes one of the first office buildings in Europe to enable all workers to easily access their corporate space with just their iPhone or Apple Watch – from doors and turnstiles to shared amenities, and more.
All users working in Warsaw's neomodern high-rise Q22 can now gain contactless access to the building, their workplace, and shared amenities conveniently with a simple tap of their iPhone or Apple Watch using the employee badge in Apple Wallet.
Wallet credentials provide the best possible user experience compared with other mobile access technology. If the worker's iPhone runs out of battery, their Apple Wallet credential will still work for up to five hours. With Express Mode, employees at Q22 don’t need to wake or unlock their Apple devices to use the virtual badge. They can unlock doors in a second and get in faster.
From the company's point of view, the launch of employee badge in Apple Wallet means fewer plastic badges need to be printed – saving money and reducing the use of plastic. Wallet badges take full advantage of the privacy and security features built into iPhone and Apple Watch. In addition, badge readers can also use Face ID or Touch ID on iPhone to provide additional security for spaces that require it without a need to install biometric technology.
Class A Experience
The rollout of NFC credentials is the finishing touch of the Q22 smart workplace ecosystem delivered by Sharry in partnership with HID, and it includes visitor management, smart parking, a workplace app, and a waste reporting portal – all connected to one platform.
"As the class A office building, Q22 must strive for a class A experience. Therefore, it's reasonable they decided to launch an employee badge in Apple Wallet that is easy, convenient, and secure. We are delighted to be among the first to deliver this technology in Europe, as we did in the U.S.,” said Jakub Řezníček, Chief Solutions Architect and Co-Founder at Sharry.
"Invesco‘s goal as the building‘s owner is to constantly improve the comfort of work, the quality of service for tenants and employees, and the convenience of guests. The implementation of the Sharry system and, in particular, the Apple Wallet functionality, is a proposed modern solution that will contribute to the creation of an even more friendly and open to new technologies workplace,“ said Anna Szelc, Investment Management Director of Invesco Real Estate in Poland.
"We are honored to work with all partners involved in that flagship project, which may become a reference for future deployments in our region. Possibilities for using employee badge in Apple Wallet are almost endless, and this project is a perfect example where it is possible to boost user experience without compromising a higher level of security,” said Kamil Targalski, European Business Development Manager at HID.
Landmark Tower
The exceptional status of the 42 above-ground-story office building has been confirmed by several external authorities. In May, Q22 became the first occupied building in Central and Eastern Europe to be awarded with SmartScore.
“Q22 is an exceptional example of a building that keeps updating its technology and elevating the offer for the occupiers over time. This landmark tower of Warsaw has already updated its building management system (BMS), access control, added carbon footprint tracking system, introduced a tenant platform, and now leads the way for state-of-art access with Apple Wallet,“ says Renata Hartle, Technology Solutions Director in Colliers, who supported Invesco in SmartScore certification.
„The Sharry app is a user-friendly interface designed for all Q22 employees, guests, and property management. It combines all the elements of a robust access control system, and provides easy access to all necessary functions such as guest invitations, parking reservations, event and marketing activities, special offers, and now also Apple Wallet. It gives us as facility managers the ability to stay in touch with the Q22 community, quickly update and communicate according to current events,“ said Anna Woźniak, Senior Property Manager at CBRE Property Management.
