Port7 has become one of the first office buildings in the Czech Republic to enable all tenants to enter their offices with just their iPhone or Apple Watch. This seamless access experience is facilitated through the workplace app and PortalWX developed by Sharry and utilizing HID Mobile Access technology. The employee badge in Apple Wallet not only enhances physical security but also improves user experience as it gets occupiers in their office even when their iPhone needs a charge.

With an employee badge in Apple Wallet, Port7 occupiers can easily access their corporate and shared spaces with just their iPhone or Apple Watch – from entrance doors to the rooftop terrace. Employees just need to hold their iPhone or Apple Watch near the reader to unlock. It’s easy, convenient, and private.

Port7, the latest development of Skanska’s commercial development unit in the Czech Republic, offers 35,850 sqm of premium renting workspace. All workplace systems are integrated through the Connected by Skanska platform (developed by Sharry) which makes it easy to manage building access, visitor registrations, service requests, data analytics, or communication with all tenants. From now on, employee badges can be also added to Apple Wallet, allowing users contactless access to the workplace.

"Port7 is one of the first office buildings to enable access via Apple Wallet. As a modern mixed-use complex, Port7 provides a top-notch environment for all users and visitors and we are always looking for further improvements to ensure the best possible conditions for our tenants. The implementation of modern technologies like this significantly facilitates access and improves employee comfort while also streamlining building management," says Petra Veselá, marketing manager for Skanska's commercial development unit in the Czech Republic.

“At Sharry, we provide our customers with a workplace experience platform that is both easy to implement and manage, that enhances the physical security, and ease facility operations management,” adds Josef Šachta, the CEO and co-founder at Sharry. “We are excited to extend our long-lasting collaboration with Apple, Skanska, and HID through the successful deployment of employee badges in Apple Wallet at Port7 in our hometown of Prague.”

"HID is proud to be a part of Port7's innovative access control system. This collaboration with Sharry exemplifies HID's commitment to delivering seamless access control experiences while prioritizing user experience and building security across the region," says Kamil Targalski, European Business Development Manager, Mobile Access at HID.

Watch a short video recap to illustrate what an exciting atmosphere and great summer mood it was near the river at Port7 during the event co-hosted by Skanska and Sharry.

How it Works

With an employee badge in Apple Wallet, Port7 occupiers can unlock their offices and shared spaces or even smart lockers by holding their iPhone or Apple Watch near the NFC-enabled reader. They don’t even need to wake or unlock their device or open any apps.

Thanks to NFC technology – used also with mobile payments –, users can access places quickly and safely.

What are the key benefits of Apple Wallet-based credentials provisioned through the Sharry white-label workplace app:

  • Even without a charge: If your iPhone needs a charge, your employee badge in Apple Wallet will still work. Power Reserve provides up to five hours of access, so you can still get inside.
  • Keep the badge safe: If an iPhone or Apple Watch is misplaced or lost, the badge in Apple Wallet will be suspended once the device is marked as “lost” in the Find My app. The badge can be reactivated once your device is recovered.
  • Stop printing new keys: With badges in Apple Wallet, you can streamline key distribution and management across your entire company. When your employees use their iPhone or Apple Watch to get access, it means fewer plastic badges need to be printed—saving money and reducing the use of plastic.

Project Implementation

Port7 marks another successful implementation of employee badges in Apple Wallet by Sharry. Within this comprehensive project, Sharry delivered an all-encompassing workplace experience platform, smartly integrating mobile access, visitor management, smart parking, and the workplace mobile app.

End-users can conveniently configure all workplace settings with a single tap on their mobile device. Administrators can effortlessly and remotely activate or deactivate specific workplace features for users through the PortalWX by Sharry.
