Three Letters That Dominated the Largest Proptech Event in the U.S.
ESG, or sustainability more generally, was the highlight of this year's CREtech conference and expo in New York.
CREtech New York 2022 confirmed its exceptional position. Attracting people beyond New York's border, the largest international community of professionals devoted to technological innovation in the real estate sector assembled nearly 2,500 real estate executives.
In case you missed the two-day conference, ESG was one of the key highlights. The panel discussion titled Top Real Estate Companies Embracing Sustainability was on the top moments of the PropTech show demonstrating the key importance of the “green with social approach to experience”.
Attended by: Jonathan Flaherty, Global Head - Sustainability and Building Technology Innovation at Tishman Speyer Properties. Ben Myers, Vice President, Sustainability at Boston Properties (BXP). Kelly Soljacich, Director of EST Innovation at LaSalle Investment Management. Rob Simpson, Senior Director, Sustainability at Ivanhoé Cambridge.
The focus addressed and embraced the benefits of bringing sustainability and ESG to life in commercial office buildings. This attitude is rapidly unfolding as enterprises start to experience a behavioral change of employees. This shift is caused by prevalence of values towards better user experience of the workplace, well-being and performance, and greater environmental consciousness.
Two quotes from two industry leaders
“ESG should become a tool for better experience overall. Making the workplace as appealing as possible.” – Jonathan Flaherty, Tishman Speyer Properties
“Commercial real estate shall become a platform to try tech and measure the benefits.” – Kelly Soljacich, LaSalle Investment Management
The two-day conference, held on October 12 and 13, also hosted an expo hall packed with the most innovative technology solutions. We were excited to present Sharry's workplace experience platform including the brand new employee badge in Apple Wallet access feature. And above all, that we were able to meet our close clients, partners, and consultants there in person.
